Weekly Highlights: Nov. 27 - Dec. 3

Such beautiful weather this weekend - the sunsets and the nearly-full moon were gorgeous.  Of course, along with that comes the frost and cooler weather.  I ask you to make sure that your children are coming to school dressed for the weather - it is still chilly at recess time and when in the shade.  I see that rain is called for at the end of the week, and that makes it especially cold.

THANK YOU

  • to the Grade 7 students who took on roles at the Mass this morning

  • to the Kids Who Can for making and selling the beautiful Advent Candles

INFORMATION

  • Food Drive Need of the Week: pancake mix and syrup

  • Christmas Hampers

REMINDERS

  • For many years, St. Mary's Parish has assembled Christmas Hampers to help local families who may find it especially difficult to make ends meet during the holiday season.  These hampers are meant to add some cheer to Christmas festivities as well as provide a bit of assistance with everyday living.

    • we have asked those who are able to provide items since October with our Food Drive Need of the Week - thank you for your contributions so far!

    • a separate email will be sent this week for classes to provide special things for hampers

  • Do you know of a family that could use a hamper?  Could YOUR family use a hamper?  If so, please fill out the Christmas Hamper here.  It can be dropped off at the school office or parish office.

    • Our own Mrs. Choboter, together with her husband, coordinates the hamper program as part of their family's service to the parish.  If you have any questions, you are welcome to contact her using her school email address:  kchoboter@saintmarysschool.ca

    • Please be assured that all applications are kept confidential.

    • Please DO NOT HESITATE to apply for a hamper.  There are times in our lives when we are able to give more, and times when we need to receive more. If this is one of the times you would benefit from receiving, there are others who would love to give to you.  One day you will pay it forward, in time, talent or treasure!

  • If you haven’t already returned your child(ren)s permission for skating, please do so by Tuesday, November 28th at the latest. If you child(ren) is renting skates, please ensure to send an envelope with the money for the rental as well as your child’s name and shoe size. If you have multiple children renting skates, please send their money individually directly to each child’s teacher.

  • We have our Purdys and poinsettia fundraisers running at this time. Please return your order form with payment if you are participating in one of these fundraisers. If you would like to be direct-debited for the cost, please make a note of this on your order form.
