Co-ed Catholic elementary school located in beautiful Chilliwack, British Columbia.
Welcome to St. Mary’s School!
We have been in operation since 1948, and are under the umbrella of the Catholic Independent Schools of the Vancouver Archdiocese. Our mission is to communicate the teachings of our faith and the love of God, and to promote the development of the whole child to his or her full potential. To that end, we pray together daily, as single classes and as a school, and attend Mass almost every week.
We offer Kindergarten through Grade 7 and also have 3 year-old and 4 year-old Pre-School on-site. Our teachers follow the curriculum set by the B.C. Ministry of Education, which includes instruction in Fine Arts, French and Applied Design, Skills and Technologies (ADST), and we have a specialist teacher for Physical Education. Our strong Learning Resource team works to provide support for a variety of learning needs.
Throughout the year, students in most grades have the opportunity to participate in extra-curricular sports, including Cross Country, Volleyball, Soccer, Basketball and Track and Field. Our teams play against other independent schools as well as some Chilliwack public schools.
Arts Education has always been an important part of our school, and a tour through our hallways will show you some amazing original work. Each year the school puts on a faith-based musical production, with participation from every grade, which is always a highlight for the students, parents and teachers alike!
St. Mary's Elementary acknowledges that the land on which we gather, learn, work and play is the traditional, ancestral, and unceded territory of the Ts'elxwéyeqw and Pelólxw Tribes of the Stó:lō peoples, and we value the warm relationships we have with our Indigenous families.
We welcome interested parties to book an appointment to come and visit the school and see for yourselves what we are all about!
As one of the Catholic Independent Schools of the Vancouver Archdiocese, it’s our mission to provide each student with an education rooted in the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Guided by the Holy Spirit and Catholic teaching, in partnership with home and parish, our schools foster the growth of responsible citizens who will live, celebrate, and proclaim their faith.
