Weekly Highlights: Jan. 29- Feb. 4

As I am beginning to type this (on Friday afternoon) there is no rain and it was warm enough to be outside with just a sweater after school!  I am hoping this trend will continue - our fields and playground were SO wet at the beginning of the week that we had to have recess in the blacktop area for a few days.  It was nice to have the kids back out in the regular play area today.  I'll be happy to see the snow piles disappear!

THANK YOU

  • to our guest dance instructor, Asiah, who accomplished so much with our students in such a short time!  I was very sad that the assembly ended up being on a day that I wasn't at school, but I was very impressed with the video footage (which should be available soon).  Thank you to Miss Gillespie for arranging for this special event, and to the family members who were able to attend!

  • to all who made the Talent Show such a success on Friday - the performers (and their families who often support them through lessons and practices!), the Grade 7 tech crew and MC's, and the "talent scouts".  A very special thank you to Mrs. Choboter for organizing and facilitating the event.  We also thank you for your patience with changing audition times due to our snow days!

INFORMATION

  • Brown envelopes will be coming home on Wednesday.  This year people have been great about returning them right away - thank you!

  • Annual General Meeting, Wednesday, February 7, 7:00 p.m.:  Each year the school holds an AGM to keep families up to date on the work of the PEC, the financial status of the school, etc.  This year we will be handing out registration packages at the AGM.  We ask that every family send at least one adult representative.  If you are unable to attend the meeting, you will need to come to the school to get your registration package - they will not be sent home in the brown envelopes this year.

REMINDERS
