St. Mary's 37th annual Walkathon!

Only 3 weeks to go!

Our goal is $15,000

We can do it!

Please continue to collect pledges!
Walkathon Friday May 17th

Our walkathon will take place Friday, May 17th   (walkathon begins at the south end of Lickman Road– parking lot is right at the Vedder River—(this is where you will need to park your car).  Students will be bussed to and from the site.  PLEASE INDICATE ON THE PERMISSION FORM IF YOU WILL BE DRIVING YOUR CHILD(REN) TO/FROM THE WALKATHON

We will need MANY VOLUNTEERS  to help our walkathon run smoothly; a parent to ride the route early that morning to put up directional signs, parents to walk with classes, man checkpoints and prepare hot dogs for the students upon their return to the school.   If you can help in any of these areas, please complete the form enclosed in the brown envelope and return it to the school ASAP.  You can also sign up through the school’s website and via the school app.

Permission form for the walkathon is enclosed in the brown envelope (one per family) Please return the permission form to the school AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.  A map of the route and more details will be sent home closer to the walkathon date.

Following the walk, the students will be bussed back to the school and treated to a complimentary hot dog and drink.  There will be extras on hand for parents and siblings (at no charge).  It will be a 12:30 pm dismissal on walkathon day. Busses will run as normal.

All pledge sheets and money must turned in by Friday, May 24th.   Prizes will be awarded at the walkathon assembly on May 29th.

Walkathon permission form was enclosed in the brown envelope.  Please indicate on the permission form if you will be driving your child to or from the walkathon site.  This will help us plan our bussing.

ATTENDANCE AUDIT—May 10th

Each year, our school is audited for student attendance and it is imperative that we have notes for all  student absences.  Please ensure that whenever your child is away (sick, vacation, family outing, dentist/doctors appointments etc.), a note is submitted to the school office upon their return to school (an email or notification via the School App will also suffice).  The reason for absence, and dates of absences, must be noted.  Our audit will take place on May 10th.  Thank you for your cooperation.

UNIFORMS
A reminder to parents that students are expected to be in full uniform (socks are mandatory) and shoes (navy or black) are to be worn (no sandals/flip flops).  Students are permitted to wear shorts on warmer days—note: shorts/pants/skorts must be dark navy blue.

There are only a few spots left in our 3 year old preschool class for next year.  Contact Mrs. Chiappetta at jchiappetta@saintmarysschool.ca to check availability.
