Highlights of the Week: May 30 - June 5

Congratulations to the Grade 7 Students who received the Sacrament of Confirmation on Friday night. It was a beautiful Mass and we are so proud of our young people as they take this important step in their faith journey.

THANK YOU

  • to everyone who helped in any way with preparing for and celebrating Confirmation!

  • to everyone who helped out with the 2nd Annual St. Mary's Golf Tournament, which was held on Saturday. Great to see Miss Dostal (Mrs. Abella) and Mrs.Symes!

  • to the families who had requests for information for our student attendance audit and got that in to Mrs. Netzlaw in a timely manner - the audit is now complete

INFORMATION:

  • Remember, there will be a weekly Wednesday draw for prizes for all those who have collected Walkathon pledges that week. Students should bring their pledge sheets to school, where a running total of pledges will be kept. Sheets will be returned to the student once the pledges are recorded, so they may continue to get pledges. For families, we will enter all of your children's names in the draw. Please be sure your pledge sheet is handed in by Tuesday.

  • Stay tuned for more information about an exciting fundraising effort - an online auction! This will run in early June.

  • We are still in search of a Homestay family for the Korean student (Grade 6) who will be attending school here next year. For more information, please contact Christine from EduPro at eduprocanadachristine@gmail.com

  • The Grade 6 and 7 classes are holding an Entrepreneurial Fair on Thursday, June 2. Please watch for more details coming this week.

REMINDERS:

  • WALKATHON PLEDGES:

    • our goal is $10,000. We are higher than we were last week, but still hoping to go even further!

    • winning class will have a movie prize afternoon

    • winning student will be Principal for the Day

    • funds are being raised for outdoor equipment

  • KEEPING INFORMATION CURRENT

    • During the course of the student attendance audit, it became apparent to us that sometimes we have outdated information on file in regards to phone numbers, addresses and so forth. It is very important that this information stays current, not only for the purpose of the school contacting you but for the information we must provide to the government in order to receive funding for your children. We will begin doing a monthly reminder in the Weekly Highlights to update us if any of your information changes (i.e., you get a new phone number, or you have moved and need to provide us proof of your current address). If you have any recent changes, please let us know ASAP. (cnetzlaw@saintmarysschool.ca) Thank you for your attention to this matter.
