Highlights of the Week: Mar. 7-13

 
 


THANK YOU

  • to those who participated in this morning's school-led Mass - lectors, choir members, powerpoint presentation person, and all families who came out with your children, especially those in uniform. It was so good to look out and see our school so well-represented at Mass this morning!

INFORMATION:

  • Mr. Seiler is seeking donations of good quality street hockey goalie equipment. If you have any please send it to school or contact Mr. Seiler at mseiler@saintmarysschool.ca.

  • Order forms went home for our SinAmen Bun Co fundraiser. If you need extra order forms, please let the office know.

  • Rapid Antigen Test kits (1 box of 5 tests per student) went home on Friday with most students - if yours did not come home, the teacher may be sending it Monday; if you have not received it by then, please let the office know. Instructions for the tests are here.

  • The Parent Fundraising Group is planning a Spring Market for April 24th. Please see the poster below.

REMINDERS:

  • Permission forms for the skating field trip need to be in as soon as possible. If your child is renting skates, money also needs to be in for this. (Please indicate your child’s shoe size when you send the money for rental.)

  • We still need many helpers for the Parking Lot Fundraiser on March 19th & 20th. Please sign up if you are available, and you are encouraged to sign up for more than 1 block if possible. Remember that other family members (including grandparents or aunts/uncles or older siblings) count for participation hours as well. To sign up, please go to https://signup.com/go/GQzvvYp

MONDAY:

  • Deadline to order hot lunch for April

TUESDAY:

  • Hot Lunch: Chopped Leaf

  • Grade 4/5 Boys Basketball GAME at East Chilliwack Elementary, 2:30 p.m. Remember, parents must arrange transportation for their children.

  • Grade 4/5 Girls Basketball Practice 3:00 - 4:00 p.m.

  • First Communion Parent Meeting, 6:30 p.m. in gym (parents only)

WEDNESDAY:

THURSDAY:

  • Skating Field Trip - all grades (non-uniform day for all). Those parents who are coming to skate with the children, and help with doing up skates, please remember that you must wear a mask. However, as this is a school event, vaccine passports are not required.

FRIDAY:

  • Colour Day in support of Ukraine - wear blue/yellow AND bring a donation (any amount), which will be forwarded to the Catholic international aid charity, Chalice. Students not wearing blue/yellow and bringing a donation should be in regular uniform.

    • Please note: this was originally scheduled to be a colour day to support our Seminarians of the Vancouver Archdiocese, but we will hold that later in Lent

  • Stations of the Cross, in the church at 11:30 a.m., led by Father Wilfred. Parents are welcome to join us.

SATURDAY:

  • Enjoy your first day of Spring Break! We look forward to seeing everyone back on Monday, March 28th

  • Please be sure that if you are traveling out of country during this time, you are familiar with the requirements for re-entry

SUNDAY:

  • Don't forget that God doesn't take vacations - remember to go to Sunday Mass! 😇
