Highlights of the Week: February 27 - March 5

 
 

What a strange weather weekend this was!  I'm sure many of us were watching all day Saturday to see when the snow that was forecast would appear - and then it did appear, with a vengeance!  Today it was so strange to see sun, hail, snow and more sun in quick succession!  Hopefully this is the last blast of winter and we will start to see warmer weather!

THANK YOU

  • to Alisha Miller,  Mrs. Olivares and the Grade 5/6 Class for the delicious pancake breakfast enjoyed by so many on Shrove Tuesday!  How fun to have that tradition restored.

  • to Mrs. Olivares and her class for making posters and decorating the school for Pink Shirt Day

  • to the helpers who came to hang the sign above the stage on Friday - I'm sorry, I don't have your names in front of me as I type this, but God knows and rewards you!!!

INFORMATION

  • Brown Envelopes are coming home on Monday, containing the book from Safe Haven Sunday, a Mite Box for Lenten collections for seminarians, your 2022 Income Tax Receipt (claimed as charitable donation, NOT as tuition) AND Registration Packages for next year.

REMINDERS

  • Please return brown envelopes if you haven't already done so

  • In the case of school closure due to snow, we will post the announcement on Facebook, on the website and send an email

MONDAY

  • Mrs. Olivares and Mrs. Choboter's classes to Sasquatch Mountain - be at the school by 7:15 a.m. (bus leaves promptly at 7:30 - if you are late, you will miss out!). Students should arrive back at the school by 4:45 p.m. We will let you know via email and Facebook if there are any delays.

  • NO Musical Practice - much of the cast will be away!

TUESDAY

  • Grade 4/5 Boys and Girls Basketball game at Cornerstone Christian

WEDNESDAY

  • Mass: Grades 2 - 7

  • Hot lunch: chicken burgers

  • Grade 4/5 Girls Basketball Game at Unity Christian - 3:00 - 4:00 p.m.

THURSDAY

  • Basketball practice for Grades 4 and 5, 3:00 p.m.

  • Parent Fundraising Group Meeting via Zoom, 7:00 p.m.

FRIDAY

  • Please note the parish Lenten devotions on Fridays:

    • 9:00 a.m. - Mass

    • 10:30 a.m. - 6:20 p.m., Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament

    • 6:20 p.m. - Benediction with the Blessed Sacrament

    • 6:30 p.m. - Stations of the Cross

    • 7:00 p.m. - Mass

SATURDAY

SUNDAY

  • School-led Mass, 9:30 a.m. - lectors and choir members, please arrive by 9:15

LOOKING AHEAD:  

  • Wednesday, March 8:  School Musical (all students to attend and perform), 11:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m.

  • we have had several calls asking about Spring Break - it will be from March 11 - March 26 - back to school on Monday, March 27th
