Dear Families,

As the day draws to an end, I'm sure some of you have been wondering what the status of the school is for tomorrow.  I've spent the evening in consultation with our staff, the PEC Chair and other independent school principals in the area, and after hearing about conditions all over Chilliwack and Abbotsford, I have decided to make the decision tonight to be closed tomorrow, January 18, in order to give you more notice.

This has not been an easy decision as each family's situation is so different.  Some of you may have had your street plowed and would not be anticipating any difficulty getting to a main road tomorrow.  For others, including myself and many of our staff members, that is not the case.  The city of Chilliwack has cancelled garbage collection for tomorrow, which says something about the state of residential areas.  Other independent schools in this area have had members of their transportation committee driving around to assess conditions and have made a decision to close.  The safety of students and staff takes priority over anything.

Please pray for warmer temperatures that will melt all of this snow (and not subject us to freezing rain!!!).
