Monday
ORANGE SHIRT DAY - to honour our commitment to the reconciliation processes put forward by the Truth and Reconciliation Commission in regards to the Indian residential school system and the impact it had on Indigenous people in Canada. Please be aware this is not an "anything goes" sort of Colour Day. If your child is not wearing an orange shirt (which could be any orange shirt, not necessarily one specifically designed for Orange Shirt Day) he or she should be in proper uniform. We want to support our Indigenous community members in a respectful way.
We will be starting our Thanksgiving Food Drive this week and it will continue through the month of October. Items donated will be given to St. Mary's Parish food bank. Each week, we will feature a NEED OF THE WEEK but please feel free to send in any of the items listed in this month's newsletter.
