Highlights of the Week: Oct. 15 - 21

FOOD DRIVE NEED OF THE WEEK:  PEANUT BUTTER  

Notes/Reminders:

  • Parent/Teacher/Student interview schedule will be emailed to parents this week.

  • If you haven't already done so, please return hot lunch forms to the office.

  • Tickets to OKTOBERFEST (Nov 10) are now available from the school office ($35/person) -includes Bavarian-style meal.  There will be kegs of German beer and German wine will also be served.  We are thrilled to announce that we have secured the band "S-Bahn", a very well-known Oktoberfest specialist band.  They are truly amazing and will have everyone up on the dance floor!  Purchase your tickets soon as we anticipate this to be a sold-out event!

OPPORTUNITIES FOR PARENT SERVICE HOURS

  • Still looking for someone that could come on a weekly basis to wash busses - please contact the school office

  • Looking for someone that could come and clean out the display board in the front of the school. (soap, water and a bit of scrubbing required!).  Also looking for someone that might like to come and change the wording on that sign every week or two - contact Pat in the school office.

MONDAY

  • Boys volleyball practice @ lunch

  • Cross Country practice after school

  • Ladies Boot Camp 5:45 - 6:45 pm in the gym - IT'S NEVER TO LATE TO JOIN! - Bring a mat and weights if you have them, and a water bottle!  $2 drop-in.

TUESDAY

  • Hot Lunch - Subway and hot dogs

  • Boys volleyball game at St. Mary's - 3 p.m. - come cheer the team on!

  • Meeting for parents of First Communion candidates - 6:45 pm

WEDNESDAY

  • Mass for Grades 2 - 7 (school sweaters please)

  • Grade 1 F.T. to Petey's Pumpkin Patch

  • Karate 3 pm - 4 pm

  • Soccer game against Little Mountain - Game is at St. Mary's - come cheer the team on!

  • FUTURE INFRASTRUCTURE PRIORITY MEETING - Oct 17 at 7pm in t he Parish hall (gym ). This meeting is being held to discuss the future infrastructure and long term planning of St. Mary's Parish grounds.  This includes the Sanctuary, Mother Teresa's thrift store and loft, St. Mary's School, preschool and gymnasium.  Everyone is welcome to attend and share in planning the future of St. Mary's Parish grounds.

THURSDAY

  • PHOTO RETAKES will be taken first thing in the afternoon.  If your child requires retakes or they were missing on the first picture day, photos will be taken today.

  • KG Dental Screening

  • Boys volleyball practice @ lunch

  • Girls volleyball game @ Rosedale Traditional

Friday

  • Province-wide PRO-D Day - No School for students

Saturday

  • St. Mary's Harvest Luncheon - 11 am - 2 pm in the Parish Hall, sponsored by St. Mary's CWL

  • Tickets available at the door: $8 for lunch ($1 for coffee/tea only)

  • Bake sale, plant sale and the CWL's famous HOME-MADE PIES!  We hope you will stop by!

Sunday

  • 9:30 Mass for First Communion candidates.
