Highlights of the Week: Nov. 1 - 7

THANK YOU

  • to all who contributed time, talent or treasure to Games Day. It was an amazing experience for the kids, and we especially thank the Grade 7 team for all of their hard effort. We happened to have a family visit the school that day, and the kids wanted to start right then!

  • for your continued contributions to the food drive.

INFORMATION:

  • November is the month of All Souls. Family pages for our "Book of Souls" went home in the brown envelope. If you return it, it will be added to the book and we will pray for your deceased loved ones during the month of November.

  • The monthly newsletter was emailed on Friday afternoon, and will also be available on our website.

  • Playdates: we have had many children ask to use the phone lately to arrange playdates. Please make sure that such arrangements are made prior to coming to school. It is especially important not to assume your child can go home on the bus if they don't normally take it home (or to go on "the other" bus if they normally take the bus home).

REMINDERS:

  • Scholastic Book Fair is on all week. Proceeds support our school library. Great chance to do some Christmas shopping!

  • There is a new section on our school website for extra-curricular activities and athletics with a calendar of events, as well as a section for permission forms.

  • FOOD DRIVE NEED OF THE WEEK: pasta and pasta sauce

  • Photo Retake Day will be November 1st

  • brown envelopes went home on Friday - please return right away so they can be used next month

  • please submit your request forms for Parent-Teacher Interviews (available via Zoom or in person). The schedule will be sent out mid-week. Please contact the office to make any changes, not the classroom teacher. **Interviews are for parent and teacher only; no children this time**

MONDAY:

  • Photo Retake Day: if you are having retakes, please send in the form and the original proofs. If this is the first time your child is having his/her photo taken this year, no need to bring anything.

  • Deadline for orders for the Colibri fundraiser: https://colibrifundraising.com/ (no code necessary, select our school when you check out).

TUESDAY:

  • Hot Lunch: Subway

  • Grade 7 Field Trip to Surrey Museum - students may wear colour clothes

  • Grade 6 Curling Field Trip - students may wear colour clothes, and should dress in layers (along with gloves, hats, etc. - it gets cold out there on the ice! Students also need to bring a CLEAN pair of shoes (i.e., in addition to the shoes they wear to walk over to the curling rink)

WEDNESDAY:

  • Mass for Grades K - 7 - white shirts and school sweaters please!

  • Mark Strahl visits Grade 6 (who should already be in neat and tidy uniform for Mass - but please make extra sure!)

THURSDAY:

  • Parent-Teacher Interviews, 5:00 - 8:00 p.m.

FRIDAY:

  • NO SCHOOL for students

  • Parent-Teacher Interviews, 8:00 a.m. - noon

SUNDAY:

  • 9:30 Mass is our School-Led Mass

    • Anyone participating in Mass (lectors, choir, ushers) please arrive at 9:15 a.m. IN UNIFORM

    • It is always nice when students attending that Mass come in uniform - show that you BELONG to our school!

Wishing you a wonderful week ahead!
