Highlights of the Week: May 16 - 23
We are so blessed to have been able to celebrate the Sacrament of First Eucharist this afternoon! Congratulations to all of our First Communicants - I'm sure your halos will be glowing tomorrow when you come to school!
THANK YOU
to those who attended the Student Led Conferences on Thursday evening and Friday morning. Your presence means a great deal to both students and teachers.
to everyone who helped with the celebration of First Communion, in any capacity. An event like this relies on many helpers, and we are grateful to all of you.
to the track coaches and parents who have helped our students be successful in their first Track Meet of the year - and well done, athletes!
INFORMATION:
Our student attendance audit is happening now, and it is important that we have all of our absences documented. If you receive a paper form for a previous absence, please sign and send back to school immediately.
Congratulations to Auron Andersen and Pria Goodwill for winning the first Walkathon prize draw. Remember, there will be a weekly Wednesday draw for prizes for all those who have collected Walkathon pledges that week. Students should bring their pledge sheets to school, where a running total of pledges will be kept. Sheets will be returned to the student once the pledges are recorded, so they may continue to get pledges. For families, we will enter all of your children's names in the draw. Please be sure your pledge sheet is handed in by Tuesday.
We need volunteers to help out with our upcoming Golf Tournament, (if you have already completed your hours, but would like to help it would be appreciated!) We are looking for 2 volunteers per mass to sell tickets for the Prize Board and to sign up golf teams. To sign up, please go to https://signup.com/go/aKMPVAR.
Also, we need volunteers for the day of the tournament, May 28th. To sign up for the morning or the afternoon shift on this day, please go to https://signup.com/go/HXydeYr.
The Grade 2/3 class was the winnner of a Chilliwack-wide draw during Teacher Appreciation Week, to receive Kona Ice Cups for the class. The Kona truck will be coming to the school on Tuesday afternoon, and will remain behind at dismissal time for anyone who wishes to buy a treat (if you were at the Spring Market, you may have had one of these - they certainly looked delicious!). PLEASE BE ADVISED THAT NO ICE CUPS CAN BE TAKEN ON THE SCHOOL BUS.
We will have a Crowning of Mary prayer service on Friday, May 20th at 11:00 a.m.. This will be led by our Kindergarten and Grade 7 classes, and all families are welcome to attend. We welcome donations of garden flowers that day, to be carried in procession by all school students.
REMINDERS:
Our prize boards for the golf tournament are still active - please contact the office if you wish to purchase squares.
During this time of year when there are field trips and track meets happening, please remember to send permission forms in right away. This week we ran the risk of having some students have to stay behind for a field trip, and that is such a disappointment to them, in addition to them not receiving the benefit that that trip provides. We cannot accept permission over the phone.
